Deepstep Atelier
Established 2018

Our story begins in a single studio with a single notebook.

Deepstep Atelier was founded when painter Lena Voss realized traditional courses moved too fast. She started breaking paintings into repeatable, stackable drills that anyone could master at any pace.

Studio • San Francisco

What began as weekend workshops quickly grew into a digital library used by over 18,000 students worldwide. We still teach from that same sunlit studio every week.

Our mission

We turn the overwhelming act of learning to paint into a series of small, satisfying steps. Every student builds confidence through short drills they can repeat until mastery feels natural.

The modular method

Each course contains four to seven micro-units. Finish one, keep it, combine it later with new skills. Nothing is ever lost. This system mirrors how studio painters actually work: one focused session at a time.

Observe

Study reference, light, and color in under fifteen minutes.

Repeat

Practice the same stroke or mixing drill until it becomes instinctive.

Stack

Combine modules into complete paintings that feel like your own.
